In a span of 28 days, beginning 5th July, UAE has taken 3 major steps which not only will gives it the edge in the post-Covid era but have put it on the path of ‘future-ready’.
With sweeping changes to Cabinet, announced on 5th July, we have noticed 3 new ministries, Industry and Advanced Technology,Entrepreneurship and Small and Medium Enterprises and Digital Economy, AI & Remote Working System. This has finally sealed for UAE to make strides as a non-oil dependent economy.
The Emirates Mars Mission is a United Arab Emirates Space Agency ‘No Crew’ space exploration mission to Mars. The Hope orbiter was launched on 19 July 2020. The space probe will study among other matters, the possible reasons behind its drastic climate changes. The mission is a contribution towards a knowledge-based economy in the UAE.
And yesterday, 1st August 2020, activated the first of its four nuclear reactors to serve its power needs well into the future. The diversification of energy resources is the plan, to reinforce its economy and one that is more in keeping with new age of minimal impact on the climate.
Despite the pandemic, UAE has shown that progress is possible, if the focus is on development with UAE version of development that is futuristic, peaceful, human-centric and inclusive.
